Bay window
A composite of three or more windows, that project out from the wall and extend to the ground, usually made up of a large center unit and two flanking units at 30°, 45° or 90° angles to the wall.
Beam
Supporting member or header above
window or door opening which transfers building weight above to the supporting wall structure on each side of the opening. The term beam is generally in reference to a concrete, wood or a steel beam.

Bore
The holes made in a door rim into which the door handles or dead bolt fits.
Bottom rail
Bottom horizontal member of a window sash.
Bow window
(Compass window) - (Radial bay window) - A
rounded bay window that projects from the wall in the shape of an arc; commonly consisting of five sash.
Box screen
A heavy duty screen rolled in to the frame of a
Sliding Glass Door instead of glass. Usually rides on its own track.
Brick molding
A standard milled wood. It is usually installed to the exterior of the opening.
Buck dimension
Buck width or height; the dimension of the
window or door (not including flange or fin) that directly fits into the buck opening.
Buck opening
Opening with buck strips (Pressure Treated wood) installed and ready for
window and door installation.
